This is what happens when you Google Translate songs–you become so obsessed with the paraphrased versions because they sound far more intricate and eccentric.
We all love to complicate things, don’t we?
‘Malibu’ singer Miley Cyrus and Jimmy Fallon played the exact same game on the latter’s show just recently. And, as expected, it was fun through and through. They reworked a couple famous tracks, and the results were nothing short of outstanding.
Miley went first, and she sang a translated version of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’, which now was called ‘Your Body’s Curves’. Well, let me pick out three highlights from the said performance.
I especially loved how they masterfully inserted the word “torso” in this part of the song. It just sounded more educated than the original version. I don’t know, maybe that’s just me.
Also, that “organ” thing they threw in there sounded so sexy it made me feel so hot. I guess, artists should do more songs with the word “organ” in their lyrics. Do you agree with me?
Of course, the best part was when THIS happened. I never thought “cadaver” would ever sound appropriate in a song until Miley (with the help of the genius Google Translate) actually made it happen!
Jimmy was also able to sing Rick James’s ‘Super Freak’, which was now translated to ‘Really Weird’.
Are you kidding me? The way that line was translated was just perfection! You know what? Because of this version, I might as well just force myself to believe that toenails really came from the top. That because of evolution, they just descended from up there. Maybe we had nails on our heads instead of hair before. I’m not really sure now. Crazy!
Oooh, that just sounded inappropriate, but still dope nonetheless.
I cannot tell you everything that transpired during this whole “Google Translate Songs” session because I am far from being a total spoiler. The best thing for you to do now is to watch that freakin’ video below. Enjoy!
