Mums are great, aren’t they? When they aren’t, ya know, giving birth to you, they’re bending over backwards to make your life a living heaven/hell.
But they often have different ways of showing it. Some like to give the children space to grow, while others choose to strap a helicopter blade to their backs and start spinning.
I’m not really sure which of the two categories this mother fits into but she’s certainly…original in the way she shows her son how much she loves him.
“I’ve been making heads for years, I did an art degree at Birmingham City University where all my work revolved around heads,” said mum-of-two, Michelle Foley.
“I’m really interested in gardening too so when I had to cut my hedges it only seemed natural that heads came out.”
Yes, you read that right. Michelle likes to show her love in the form of giant head-shaped hedge sculptures which she keeps in her garden at home.
Her 21-year-old son, Brennan Black, has been trimmed into hedge form and her partner, Andrew Batterham came next.
“Andrew looks uncannily like him and Brennan is perhaps not quite recognisable because the glasses aren’t on yet.
“I’m making the glasses out of things from a skip largely using odd bits of plastic and I think when they go on you won’t be able to tell them apart.”
Remember Michelle had two children? She clearly didn’t.
“My daughter who’s a bit disgusted there isn’t one of her yet is going to be next in line.
“They [the hedges, not the children] require attention little and often, a trim every now and then is all that’s needed to maintain their shape.
Yes, Michelle. Perfectly natural…
